Porsche to boost production of Cayenne SUV as sales rise

The Cayenne currently is Porsche’s bestselling model in Canada; it’s also the case in many other markets. With the ever-increasing popularity of its sports-luxury SUV, Porsche has decided to increase production in order to meet demand.

Bloomberg reports that in the first half of 2011, Cayenne sales are up by 37%. Delivery times are getting longer, especially in markets like China, where the delay is now a 12-month wait. Porsche plans to increase production output by 10 to 20 percent starting in 2012.
A smaller SUV model, likely to be called the Cajun, should be introduced within the next year, while a redesigned 911 is on its way before the end of the year. The German brand is also enjoying rising sales of the Panamera sedan.
